Removal Procedure
- Remove the 2 plastic retainers (2) which secure each side of the rear bumper fascia (1) in the wheelhousing area.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the screw which secures each side of the bottom of the rear bumper fascia (1).
- Remove the 2 bolts (2) which secure the center bottom of the rear bumper fascia (1).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Open the endgate or rear door.
- Remove the 4 plastic retainers (1) which secure the rear bumper fascia (2) along the top.
- Slide the rear bumper fascia (1) rearward.
- Remove the rear bumper fascia (1) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear bumper fascia (2) to the vehicle. Secure the fascia with the 4 plastic retainers (1) along the top.
- Close the endgate or rear door.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Install the 2 bolts (2) which secure the center bottom of the rear bumper fascia (1).
- Install the screw which secures each side of the bottom of the rear bumper fascia (1).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the 2 plastic retainers (2) which secure each side of the rear bumper fascia (1) in the wheelhousing area.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the rear bumper fascia bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
