Front Side Door Upper Hinge and Lower Hinge Replacement Driver Side
Removal Procedure
- Remove the front fender.
Refer to
Front Fender Replacement - Left Side
in Body Front End.
- Mark the position of the front side door hinge (1) to the
front side door and the door jamb.
- Remove the 2 bolts (3) that retain the hinge (1)
to the door.
- Remove the 2 bolts (2) that retain the hinge (1)
to the door jamb.
- Remove the hinge (1) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front side
door hinge (1) to the vehicle by aligning the hinge with the marks
made during the removal procedure. Secure the hinge to the door jamb with
the 2 bolts (2). Do not tighten completely at this time.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the 2 bolts (3)
that retain the hinge (1) to the door.
Tighten
Tighten the front side door hinge bolts to 27 N·m (19 lb ft).
- Install the front fender. Refer to
Front Fender Replacement - Left Side
in Body Front End.
Front Side Door Upper Hinge and Lower Hinge Replacement Passenger Side
Removal Procedure
- Remove the front fender.
Refer to
Front Fender Replacement - Right Side
in Body Front End.
- Mark the position of the front side door hinge (1) to the
front side door and the door jamb.
- Remove the 2 bolts (3) that retain the hinge (1)
to the door.
- Remove the 2 bolts (2) that retain the hinge (1)
to the door jamb.
- Remove the hinge (1) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front side
door hinge (1) to the vehicle by aligning the hinge with the marks
