Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement 4 Door

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 488843  Size: SH
  1. Remove the front seat belt guide loop cover (1).
  2. Remove the front seat belt guide loop anchor bolt (2).

  3. Object Number: 478171  Size: SH
  4. Loosen the front (2) and rear (4) side door opening frame garnish moldings away from the upper center pillar trim (1).
  5. Remove the upper center pillar trim (1) from the vehicle by gently disengaging the plastic retainers.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 478171  Size: SH
  1. Install the upper center pillar trim (1) to the vehicle. Secure the trim by pressing into place to ensure that the plastic retainers are fully engaged.

  2. Object Number: 488843  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the front seat belt guide loop anchor bolt (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the front seat belt guide loop anchor bolt to 35 N·m (25 lb ft).

  5. Install the front seat belt guide loop cover (1).

  6. Object Number: 478171  Size: SH
  7. Install the front (2) and rear (4) side door opening frame garnish moldings to the pinch weld flange (3) on both sides of the upper center pillar trim (1).

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 487741  Size: SH
  1. Remove the folding top side rail garnish molding. Refer to Folding Top Side Rail Replacement in Roof.
  2. Remove the front seat belt guide loop cover (1).
  3. Remove the front seat belt guide loop anchor bolt (2).
  4. Remove the rear assist handle (4). Refer to Assist Handle Replacement - Rear 2 Door .

  5. Object Number: 487799  Size: SH
  6. Remove the folding top #3 bow mounting screw trim cover (4).

  7. Object Number: 926486  Size: SH
  8. Remove the folding top #3 bow mounting screws (2).
  9. Remove the upper center pillar trim from the vehicle by gently disengaging the plastic retainers.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 926486  Size: SH
  1. Install the upper center pillar trim to the vehicle. Secure the trim by pressing into place to ensure that the plastic retainers are fully engaged.
  2. Install the folding top #3 bow mounting screws (2).

  3. Object Number: 487799  Size: SH
  4. Install the folding top #3 bow mounting screw trim cover (4).

  5. Object Number: 487741  Size: SH
  6. Install the rear assist handle (4). Refer to Assist Handle Replacement - Rear 2 Door .

  10. Install the front seat belt guide loop cover (1).
  11. Install the folding top side rail garnish molding. Refer to Folding Top Side Rail Replacement in Roof.
