Overdrive Switch Inop after Replacement

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Overdrive switch inoperative or not functioning correctly after replacement.

Please reference the information below to identify the correct overdrive switch:

1. P/N 91176767: This overdrive switch is a 1999 - 2000 model part, which is an on/off type of switch. The button when depressed locks. The switch has a black wire coming out the bottom of the part.
2. P/N 91176707: This overdrive switch is a 2001 - 2003 model part, which is a momentary type of switch. The button when depressed does not lock. The switch has a white wire coming out of the bottom of the part.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
