Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Inlet Hose Replacement 1.6L

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 461756  Size: SH
  1. Loosen the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose clamp (4) at the steering gear housing.
  2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any escaping fluid.
  3. Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose (3) from the steering gear housing.

  5. Object Number: 738067  Size: SH
  6. Loosen the power steering fluid reservoir hose clamp at the reservoir (1).
  7. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose (6) from the reservoir.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 738067  Size: SH
  1. Install the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose (6) to the reservoir (1).
  2. Install the hose clamp in order to retain the hose to the reservoir.

  3. Object Number: 461756  Size: SH
  4. Install the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose (3) to the steering gear housing.
  5. Install the hose clamp (4).
  6. Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Add power steering fluid to the reservoir. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  8. Notice: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Notice in the Preface section.

  9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Inlet Hose Replacement 2.0L

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 738069  Size: SH

    Important: The power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe includes an inlet hose and an inlet pipe. The inlet hose connects the reservoir to the inlet pipe. The inlet pipe connects the inlet hose to the power steering gear outlet hose.

  1. Loosen the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose clamp at the power steering gear outlet hose (5).
  2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any escaping fluid.
  3. Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe (6) from the power steering gear outlet hose.
  5. Remove the 3 bolts from the 3 power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe clamps.
  6. Loosen the reservoir inlet hose clamp at the reservoir (1).
  7. Remove the reservoir inlet hose from the reservoir.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 461492  Size: SH
  1. Install the reservoir inlet hose (5) to the reservoir (6).
  2. Install the hose clamp in order to retain the hose to the reservoir.

  3. Object Number: 738069  Size: SH
  4. Install the reservoir inlet pipe (6) to the power steering gear outlet hose (5).
  5. Install the hose clamp in order to retain the pipe to the hose.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Install the 3 bolts to the 3 pipe clamps.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (8 lb ft).

    Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in the Preface section.

  9. Add power steering fluid to the reservoir. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  10. Notice: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Notice in the Preface section.

  11. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
