Use the following steps in order to adjust the toe:

  1. Loosen the lock nuts.
  2. Loosen the steering gear boot outer clamp on the inner tie rod.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Ensure that the left tie rod and the right tie rod become equal in length.

  4. Rotate the left tie rod (1) and the right tie rod by the same amount.
  5. Rotate the left tie rod and the right tie rod until the toe-in measures 0.0 degrees. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications .

    Tighten
    Tighten tie rod lock nuts to 65 N·m (47 lb ft).

  6. Ensure the steering gear boots are not twisted.
  7. Tighten the steering gear boot outer clamp on the inner tie rod.
