Tools required

    • J 34839 Pinion Bearing Remover
    • J 37764 Input Shaft Bearing Remover Adapter
    • J 23907 Slide Hammer with Bearing Adapter
    • J 7079-2 Universal Driver Handle Non-Threaded
    • J 34848 Clutch Pilot Bearing Installer

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the manual transmission assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Two-Wheel-Drive Transmission Replacement or Four-Wheel-Drive Transmission Replacement in Manual Transmission.
  2. Remove the pressure plate and the clutch disc from the flywheel. Refer to Clutch Assembly Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 183050 Size: SH
  3. Remove the clutch pilot bearing (1) from the crankshaft using the J 37764 , J 34839 and the J 23907 .
  4. Inspect the clutch pilot bearing (1) for scoring, binding or rough operation.
  5. Replace as necessary.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 183053 Size: SH
  1. Install the clutch bearing into the crankshaft using the J 34848 with the J 7079-2 .
  2. Install the clutch disc and the pressure plate to the flywheel (1). Refer to Clutch Assembly Replacement .
  3. Install the manual transmission assembly into the vehicle. Refer to Two-Wheel-Drive Transmission Replacement or Four-Wheel-Drive Transmission Replacement in Manual Transmission.
