Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement 2 Door
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear quarter
lower trim panel. Refer to
Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Open the shoulder guide trim cover (1).
- Remove the shoulder guide anchor bolt (2) which secures
the rear seat belt to the rear seat belt mounting bracket (6).
- Remove the following components from the vehicle:
4.1. | The mounting bolt (5) |
4.2. | The rear seat belt (4) |
- Pull the rear seat pull
strap and raise the rear seat cushion (5) in order to gain access to
the rear seat belt buckle anchor bolt.
- Remove the following components from the floor pan:
6.2. | The rear seat belt buckle |
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the rear
seat belt buckle to the floor pan. Secure the buckle with the anchor bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the rear seat belt buckle anchor bolt to 35 N·m
(25 lb ft).
- Lower the rear seat cushion (5).
- Install the rear seat
belt (4) to the vehicle. Secure the seat belt with the mounting bolt (5).
Tighten
Tighten the rear seat belt mounting bolt to 35 N·m (25 lb ft).
- Install the shoulder guide anchor bolt (2) which secures
the rear seat belt to the rear seat belt mounting bracket (6).
Tighten
Tighten the rear seat belt shoulder guide anchor bolt to 35 N·m
(25 lb ft).
- Close the shoulder guide trim cover (1).
- Install the rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer to
Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement
in
Interior Trim.
Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement 4 Door
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear quarter
lower trim panel. Refer to
Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Open the shoulder guide trim cover (1).
- Remove the shoulder guide anchor bolt (2) which secures
the rear seat belt (3).
- Fold the rear seat back to the upright position.
- Pull the rear seat pull
strap (1 or 2) and raise the rear seat cushion (3 or 4)
in order to gain access to the rear seat belt lower anchor bolt.
- Remove the rear seat belt
lower anchor bolt (3).
- Remove the following components from the vehicle:
7.1. | The mounting bolt (4) |
7.2. | The rear seat belt (5) |
- Remove the following components from the floor pan:
8.2. | The rear seat belt buckle |

- Install the rear seat belt (5) to the vehicle. Secure the
seat belt with the mounting bolt (4).
Tighten
Tighten the rear seat belt mounting bolt to 35 N·m (25 lb ft).
- Install the rear seat belt lower anchor bolt (3).
Tighten
Tighten the rear seat belt lower anchor bolt to 35 N·m
(25 lb ft).
- Lower the rear seat cushion (3 or 4).
- Fold the rear seat back
down.
- Install the shoulder guide anchor bolt (2) which secures
the rear seat belt (3).
Tighten
Tighten the rear seat belt shoulder guide anchor bolt to 35 N·m
(25 lb ft).
- Close the shoulder guide trim cover (1).
- Install the rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer to
Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement
in
Interior Trim.
