Important: Review the system operation in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions.

   • Refer to Instrument Cluster Description and Operation
   • Refer to Audible Warnings Description and Operation .

Visual/Physical Inspection

    • Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect the operation of the instrument panel and gauges system or the audible warnings system. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories in Wiring Systems.
    • Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.
    • Inspect the interior/exterior lighting system and seat belt indicator for normal operation.
    • Check all engine fluids for proper fill levels.
    • Be sure that there are no other DTCs set which may affect the operation of the instrument panel and gauges system or the audible warnings system.

Intermittent

Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.

Symptom List

Refer to a symptom diagnostic procedure from the following list in order to diagnose the symptom:

    •  Engine Coolant Temperature Gage Inaccurate or Inoperative
    •  Engine Oil Pressure Indicator Always On
    •  Engine Oil Pressure Indicator Inoperative
    •  Fuel Gage Inaccurate or Inoperative
    •  Gages Inoperative - All
    •  Speedometer and/or Odometer Inaccurate or Inoperative
    •  Chime Always On
    •  Chime Inoperative
