For 1990-2009 cars only
- Clean the lower oil pan (7). Remove all the sludge and any oil deposits.
- Clean the mating surfaces of the lower oil pan.
- Inspect the threads of the engine oil drain plug (5).
- Inspect the lower oil pan for cracking near the pan rails.
- Inspect the lower oil pan for cracking resulting from impact or flying road debris.
- Repair or replace the oil pan as necessary.
