For 1990-2009 cars only
- Clean the upper oil pan (1). Remove all the sludge and any oil deposits.
- Clean the mating surfaces of the upper oil pan.
- Inspect the upper oil pan for cracking near the pan rails and the mounting points.
- Inspect the upper oil pan for cracking resulting from impact or flying road debris.
- Repair or replace the oil pans as necessary.
