Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement for Chevrolet Tracker - 4WD 2003
Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the
vehicle on a suitable hoist. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Disconnect the front wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the retaining bolt (3).
- Remove the front wheel speed sensor (1) from the steering knuckle
(2).
- Remove the front wheel
speed sensor, sensor harness (2), and harness bracket (1) from
the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front wheel
speed sensor assembly (1) to the steering knuckle (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the retaining
bolt (3).
Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 7.8 N·m (69 lb in).
- Connect the front wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
- Lower the vehicle.
