Removal Procedure

  1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the cap from the bottom of the receiver.

  4. Object Number: 467837  Size: SH
  5. Remove the filter from the receiver.

  6. Object Number: 467839  Size: SH
  7. Remove the dryer.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 467839  Size: SH

    Important: Add 40 ml (1.3 fl oz) of refrigerant oil to the refrigeration system when installing a new condenser dryer.

  1. Install the dryer with the double layer portion facing the bottom of the receiver.

  2. Object Number: 467837  Size: SH
  3. Install the filter to the receiver.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the cap to the receiver.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the receiver cap to 13 N·m (10 lb ft).

  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  9. Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing .
