Removal Procedure
- Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Remove the grill. Refer to
Grille Replacement
in Exterior
Trim.
- Remove the bolt and the compressor discharge
hose (1) from the compressor.
- Remove the bolt and the compressor discharge hose from the condenser (3).
- Remove the compressor discharge hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install new O-rings coated with mineral
base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to the refrigerant pipe fittings.
- Install the hose to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the compressor discharge hose to the condenser (3).
Secure with the bolt.
- Install the compressor discharge hose (1) to the compressor.
Secure with the bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).
- Install the grill. Refer to

Trim.
- Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer
Leak Testing
