Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 907074 Size: SH
  1. Remove the windshield wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
  2. Remove the air inlet screen. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  3. Remove the 2 bolts (1) the ground strap (2) and the bulkhead center cover (3), exposing the windshield wiper motor linkage.

  4. Remove the 5 retaining nuts (1) that retain the windshield wiper motor linkage (3) to the bulkhead (2).

    5. Object Number: 473482 Size: SH
  5. Remove the windshield wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .
  6. Release the windshield wiper motor linkage retaining tabs (2).

  7. Remove the windshield wiper motor linkage (1) by sliding the linkage out of the windshield bulkhead opening (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 907090 Size: SH
  1. Install the windshield wiper motor linkage (1) by sliding the linkage through the windshield bulkhead opening (2).

    2. Object Number: 473482 Size: SH
  2. Position the windshield wiper motor linkage to the bulkhead. Ensure that the retaining tabs (2) are completely engaged.

    3. Object Number: 473477 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the 5 retaining nuts (1) that retain the windshield wiper motor linkage (3) to the bulkhead (2).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the windshield wiper motor linkage retaining nuts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  4. Install the windshield wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

    5. Important: Ensure that the ground wire (2) is retained by the left bulkhead center cover bolt.

  5. Install the bulkhead center cover (3). Secure the bulkhead center cover with the 2 bolts (1).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bulkhead center cover retaining bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  6. Install the air inlet screen. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  7. Install the windshield wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
