Removal Procedure
- Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
- Remove the front seat inner adjuster finish cover. Refer to Driver Seat and Passenger Seat Inner Adjuster Finish Cover Replacement .
- Remove the front seat outer adjuster finish cover. Refer to Driver Seat and Passenger Seat Outer Adjuster Finish Cover Replacement .
- Release the J-retainer (2) on the bottom of the seat back cushion (1) which secures the cushion around the seat adjuster lateral rod (3).
- Remove the 2 bolts (2) which secure each seat adjuster (3) to the seat back cushion (1).
- Remove the seat back cushion (1) from the front seat.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat back cushion (1) to the front seat. Secure the cushion to each seat adjuster (3) with the 2 mounting bolts (2).
- Secure the J-retainer (2) on the bottom of the seat back cushion (1) which secures the cushion around the seat adjuster lateral rod (3).
- Install the front seat outer adjuster finish cover. Refer to Driver Seat and Passenger Seat Outer Adjuster Finish Cover Replacement .
- Install the front seat inner adjuster finish cover. Refer to Driver Seat and Passenger Seat Inner Adjuster Finish Cover Replacement .
- Install the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the front seat back cushion mounting bolts to 35 N·m
(25 lb ft).
