Removal Procedure
- Remove the door trim panel. Refer to
Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
or
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the handle retaining
bolt.
- Release the handle locator tab from the locator cutout, by sliding
the handle forward.
- Release the rod retainer locks.
- Remove the rods from the handle.
- Remove the handle from the door.
Installation Procedure
- Position the handle to
the door.
- Install the rods to the handle.
- Install the rod retainer locks.
- Insert the handle locator tab into the locator cutout and move the
handle rearward, indexing the fastener hole to the door.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the handle
retaining bolt.
Tighten
Tighten bolt to 10 N·m (88 lb in).
