Condition
Some customers may comment that the radio appears to mute intermittently.
Cause
This condition may be caused by the Radio Data System (RDS) searching for a radio station with a stronger signal, which temporarily mutes the radio.
Correction
Important: Vehicles built in March 2006 and later have radios with the updated software already installed and will not require any update.
Technicians are to reprogram the radio with an updated software calibration. This update will install a Middle East region tuner calibration into the radio. This service calibration was released in TIS2000 version 8.5 in August of 2002. As always, make sure your Tech 2® is updated with the latest software version.
