Removal Procedure
Remove the transmission mount. Refer to
Transmission Mount Replacement
.
If equipped with 2 wheel drive (2WD), slide the catalytic converter hanger (1) towards the front of the vehicle and remove the hanger.
If equipped with 4 wheel drive (4WD), slide the catalytic converter hanger (1) towards the front of the vehicle and remove the hanger.
Installation Procedure
If equipped with 4WD, position the hanger and slide the catalytic converter hanger (1) towards the rear of the vehicle.
If equipped with 2WD, position the hanger and slide the catalytic converter hanger (1) towards the rear of the vehicle.
Install the transmission mount. Refer to
Transmission Mount Replacement
.
Exhaust System Insulator, Hanger, Bracket Replacement Adjustable Exhaust Hanger
Removal Procedure
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Remove the exhaust hanger bracket assembly bolts (4).
Remove the adjustable exhaust hanger bracket assembly (3) from the muffler hanger rod.
Remove 2 U-clips in the slots (1 and 2) in the spare tire crossmember.
Installation Procedure
Install 2 NEW U-clips in the slots (1 and 2) in the spare tire crossmember. Seat the clips into position.
Install the adjustable exhaust hanger bracket assembly (3) onto the muffler hanger rod with the 2 bolts (4) and hand tighten.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Position the adjustable exhaust hanger bracket assembly (3) so that the exhaust tip is centered with at least 25 mm (1 in) of clearance to the rear fascia opening. Tighten the exhaust hanger bracket bolts to
22 N·m (16 lb ft)
.
