Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 687450 Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the engine shield mounting bolts.
  3. Remove the engine shield.

    4. Object Number: 899003 Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear lower control arm bracket to frame mounting bolts.

    5. Object Number: 687452 Size: SH
  5. Remove the steering gear crossmember mounting bolts.
  6. Remove the steering gear crossmember.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 687452 Size: SH
  1. Install the steering gear crossmember.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the steering gear crossmember mounting bolts and tighten to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    3. Object Number: 899003 Size: SH
  3. Install the rear lower control arm bracket to frame mounting bolts and tighten to 230 N·m (170 lb ft).

    4. Object Number: 687450 Size: SH
  4. Install the engine shield.
  5. Install the engine shield mounting bolts and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
  6. Lower the vehicle.
