The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
A miss-positioned IP harness in the engine compartment can cause a water leak at driver's floor board area. The IP harness passes through the bulk head low and to the left of the brake booster. This harness should form a dip downward 4 to 5 inches below the pass through before rising to connect to fuse block, C101, and other connections. The dip in the harness is referred to as a drip loop. The drip loop is designed to allow moisture in the harness to wick out before entering the passenger compartment. If the harness is miss-positioned in the engine compartment and the harness does not dip to form the drip loop, water could wick through the pass through into the passenger compartment and drip on the Driver's foot.
If inspection of the harness reveals the harness is not routed correctly and a drip loop is not formed, adjust the harness location to form the drip loop. The Harness should dip 4 to 5 inches below the pass through. Refer to eSI doc 750780.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
