The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may comment of an intermittent dead battery. Upon performing diagnostics, the technician may find a current draw between 4100 mA and 5000 mA. This may be the result of the rear wiper motor attempting to park the rear wiper and is not able to do so due to a bent wiper arm or blade.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Monitor the battery draw using a Digital Multimeter (Special Tool Number J-39200) and Parasitic Load Tool (Special Tool Number J-38758) during removal of the 15A RR Wiper Circuit Breaker #9 from the rear BEC. If the excessive current draw is eliminated upon removal of the fuse, inspect the rear wiper arm/blade for damage. Adjust or replace the rear wiper arm/blade as necessary.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
