The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some customers may comment of any or all of the following concerns:
Technicians may find Intermittent Loss Of Communication with several U-Codes stored. The most common codes include the following: U1300 U1301 U1305 U1016 U1064 U1096 U1169 U1161 U1162.
This concern can be intermittent and at times difficult to diagnosis yet communication is not always lost with the Tech 2. When present, this concern can be cleared by cycling the ignition to the "OFF" position, waiting for a moment and then restarting the vehicle. This could be the result of a module software concern and only applies to vehicles equipped with Memory seats (AAB), Heated seats (KA1), Electric Pedals (JF4) or a combination of these options.
Load the VIN into GM VIS and determine if Product Enhancement bulletin 06022 applies to the vehicle. If the bulletin is open, perform Product Enhancement bulletin 06022. If the Product Enhancement is closed or not listed in VIS, follow published diagnostics. This PI is to assist dealer with locating Product Enhancement Bulletin 06022. This will only affect the vehicles listed in Product Enhancement 06022 and should not be performed on vehicles not listed in VIS.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
