Engine Mount Replacement - Left Side Four-Wheel Drive

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the front tire and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  3. Remove the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement.
  4. Remove the shock module. Refer to Shock Absorber and Spring Assembly Replacement.
  5. Remove the left side wheel drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement.
  6. Remove the front differential carrier. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement.

  7. Object Number: 876682  Size: SH
  8. Remove the lower engine mount retaining nuts from the engine mount frame bracket.

  9. Object Number: 876736  Size: SH
  10. Remove the 3 mounting bolts that secure the upper engine mount bracket to the engine block bracket.

  11. Object Number: 876704  Size: SH
  12. Remove the 3 retaining bolts to the frame engine mount bracket.

  13. Object Number: 756187  Size: SH
  14. Install a pole jack underneath the oil pan.
  15. Insert a block of wood between the oil pan and the pole jack.

  16. Object Number: 876683  Size: SH
  17. Raise the engine 2¼ inches measuring from the bottom of the oil pan to the front edge of the transmission support crossmember.

  18. Object Number: 876682  Size: SH
  19. Remove the engine mount frame bracket from the frame.

  20. Object Number: 886135  Size: SH
  21. Remove the engine mount with the upper engine mount bracket as an assembly.
  22. Separate the engine mount from the upper engine mount bracket.

  23. Object Number: 883055  Size: SH
  24. Remove the engine mount bracket spacer if damaged.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 883055  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount bracket spacer if necessary. Tighten the spacer bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  2. Object Number: 886135  Size: SH

    Note: Verify that the cut out side of the engine mount shield is positioned away from the engine.

  3. Install the engine mount to the upper engine mount bracket. Tighten engine mount nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  4. Object Number: 876736  Size: SH
  5. Install the engine mount to engine. Tighten engine mount bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
  6. Install the engine mount frame bracket to the frame.
  7. Install the engine mount frame bracket retaining bolts and tighten to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).
  8. Install the left side engine mount frame bracket.
  9. Install the left side engine mount frame bracket retaining bolts and tighten to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).

  11. Lower the engine, aligning the engine mount studs with the holes in the frame bracket.
  12. Remove the pole jack and block of wood.
  13. Tighten the engine mount nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
  14. Install the shock module. Refer to Shock Absorber and Spring Assembly Replacement.
  15. Install the front differential carrier. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement.
  16. Install the left side wheel drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement.
  17. Install the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement.
  18. Install the front tire and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  19. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

Engine Mount Replacement - Left Side Two-Wheel Drive

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the front tire and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  3. Remove the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement.
  4. Remove the shock module. Refer to Shock Absorber and Spring Assembly Replacement.

  6. Remove the lower engine mount retaining nuts from the engine mount frame bracket.

  7. Object Number: 876736  Size: SH
  8. Remove the 3 mounting bolts that secure the upper engine mount bracket to the engine block bracket.

  9. Object Number: 876704  Size: SH
  10. Remove the 3 frame engine mount bracket retaining bolts.

  11. Object Number: 756187  Size: SH
  12. Install a pole jack underneath the oil pan.
  13. Insert a block of wood between the oil pan and the pole jack.

  14. Object Number: 876683  Size: SH
  15. Raise the engine 2¼ inches measuring from the bottom of the oil pan to the front edge of the transmission support crossmember.

  17. Remove the engine mount frame bracket from the frame.

  22. Remove the engine mount bracket spacer if damaged.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the engine mount bracket spacer if necessary. Tighten the spacer bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  2. Object Number: 886135  Size: SH

  8. Install the retaining bolts to the engine mount frame bracket.
  9. Install the left side engine mount frame bracket.
  10. Install the retaining bolts to the left side engine mount frame bracket and tighten to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).
  11. Lower the engine, aligning the engine mount studs with the holes in the frame bracket.
  12. Remove the pole jack and block of wood.
  13. Tighten the engine mount nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
  14. Install the shock module. Refer to Shock Absorber and Spring Assembly Replacement.
  15. Install the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement.
  16. Install the front tire and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  17. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
