Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 260028  Size: SH
  3. Remove the hanger insulator(s).
  4. Remove the bolts from the hanger.
  5. Remove the hanger from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 260028  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the hanger with the bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the catalytic converter hanger bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

    Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust muffler hanger bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

    Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust tail pipe hanger bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the hanger insulator(s).
  4. Lower the vehicle.
