Caution: Always use double walled steel brake pipe when replacing brake pipes. The use of any other pipe is not recommended and may cause brake system failure. Carefully route and retain replacement brake pipes. Always use the correct fasteners and the original location for replacement brake pipes. Failure to properly route and retain brake pipes may cause damage to the brake pipes and cause brake system failure.
4.1. | Remove the brake pipe from the brake hose. Refer to Brake Hose Replacement - Front . |
4.2. | If you are replacing the RIGHT FRONT brake pipe, perform the following steps: |
4.2.1. | Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement in Engine Exhaust. |
4.2.2. | Remove the brake pipe(s) from the brake pipe retainers. |
4.2.3. | Remove the heat shield from the brake pipe above the catalytic converter. |
5.1. | Remove the rear brake pipe(s) from the rear brake hose(s). Refer to Rear Brake Hose Replacement . |
5.2. | Remove the rear brake pipe(s) from the wheel cylinder(s). Refer to Wheel Cylinder Replacement . |
2.1. | Install the rear brake pipe(s) to the wheel cylinder(s). Refer to Wheel Cylinder Replacement . |
2.2. | Install the rear brake pipe(s) to the rear brake hose(s). Refer to Rear Brake Hose Replacement . |
3.1. | Install the front brake pipe to the front brake hose. Refer to Brake Hose Replacement - Front . |
3.2. | If you are replacing the RIGHT FRONT brake pipe, perform the following steps: |
3.2.1. | Install the heat shield to the brake pipe above the catalytic converter. |
3.2.2. | Install the brake pipe(s) to the brake pipe retainers. |
3.2.3. | Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement in Engine Exhaust. |
