🢒 Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement
Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement With Solid Axle
Removal Procedure
Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Relieve the park brake cable tension at the equalizer. (Located near the middle of the rear axle).
•
For the right rear cable, disconnect the cable (3) from the clip (2).
•
For the left rear cable, fully remove the equalizer nut from the equalizer stud, which is part of the left rear cable.
Disconnect the rear cable (3) from the front cable (1).
Remove the rear wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
Remove cable from the support bracket.
Remove the park brake cable from the actuator lever.
Installation Procedure
Install the park brake cable into the support bracket.
Install the park brake cable to the actuator lever.
Install the rear wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
Connect the rear cable (3) to the front cable (1).
Adjust the park brake. Refer to
Park Brake Adjustment
.
Lower the vehicle.
