Seatbelt Indicator Light Is Flashing While Driving - kw belt diagnostics GMT201 identification indicator information lamp light seat

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Some customer may report that their seatbelt indicator light is flashing while driving and the seatbelt is buckled. SI Document ID 1522233 shows the passenger seat belt switch normally open, and Document ID 1527947 step #4 asks the technician to monitor passenger seat belt status with the Tech 2.

The seat belt switch is normally closed, when unbuckled. The parameter in the Tech 2 is for the drivers seatbelt status only . The seatbelt status can be checked with a DVOM at the seatbelt connector.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
