Subject:Stall , No Crank , No Start After Using the Wipers

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customer may report a stall and/or no crank, no start condition after the wipers are used. The SES light may or may not be illuminated and the customer may report other problems with the cruise control system. A Tech 2 diagnostic probe will find numerous DTCs which could include P0608 cruise control, C0460, C0461 steering wheel sensor codes, and possibly a no communication issue with the PCM. Engineering has determined the wiper motor crank arm is contacting the UBEC wiring harness and cutting the wires.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Repair the wiring as needed and reposition the harness so that it does not come in contact with the wiper motor crank arm. This can be completed by forcing the excess harness loom away from the wiper motor arms path.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
