Suction Hose Replacement LZ9

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
Removal Procedure
Important: Cap or tape the open air conditioning (A/C) components immediately in order to prevent system contamination.
- Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
- Remove the A/C suction hose to A/C evaporator tube bolt).
- Remove the A/C suction hose from the A/C evaporator tube.
- Remove and discard the sealing washer.
- Cap or tape off the A/C evaporator tube.
- Remove the radiator air baffle. Refer to
Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors.
- Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
- Remove the A/C suction hose to A/C compressor nut.
- Remove the A/C suction hose from the A/C compressor.
- Remove and discard the sealing washer.
- Cap or tape the A/C suction port on the A/C compressor.
- Remove the A/C suction hose (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install new sealing washers to the A/C suction hose. Refer to
Sealing Washer Replacement .
- Remove the cap or tape from the suction port on the A/C compressor.
- Install the A/C suction hose (1) to the A/C compressor.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the A/C suction hose to A/C compressor nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Remove the cap or tape from the evaporator tube.
- Install the A/C suction hose to the A/C evaporator tube.
- Install the A/C suction hose to A/C evaporator tube bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Connect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
- Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
- Leak test the fittings of the A/C components using the
J 39400-A .
