🢒 Ignition Coil Replacement
Removal Procedure
Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to
Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
.
Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose from the intake manifold.
Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector (1).
Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector (2).
Disconnect the left side spark plug wires from the ignition coil.
Disconnect the right side spark plug wires from the ignition coil.
Remove the upper left coil mount bracket bolt (1).
Raise the vehicle. refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Disconnect the wire retainers on the ignition coil bracket.
Remove the remaining bolt (1) and the two nuts (2) on the coil bracket.
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the ignition coil bracket assembly.
Installation Procedure
Install the ignition coil (3).
Raise the vehicle.
Install the upper right coil mount bolt.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the coil mount nuts and tighten to
25 N·m (15 lb ft)
.
Connect the wire retainers to the coil bracket.
Lower the vehicle.
Install the upper left coil mount bolt and tighten to
25 N·m (15 lb ft)
.
Connect the right side spark plug wires to the ignition coil.
Connect the left side spark plug wires to the ignition coil.
Connect the ignition coil electrical connector (2).
Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector (1).
Connect the brake booster vacuum hose to the intake manifold.
Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to
Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
