The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
TAC has received several calls in regards intermittent DTCs C0460, C0461 (Steering Position Sensors), C0187 (Lateral Accelerometer Circuit Range/Performance), C0196 (Yaw Rate Circuit) and/or C0252 (VSES sensor uncorrelated). Initial investigation
has found the forward engine harness routed from the EBCM, underneath the inlet air breather box and across/down the transmission may have several points were it may come it contact with the transmission stud or A/C line creating a short to ground.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Inspect the complete forward wiring harness and repair as needed, wrap with protective tape inside and outside the conduit. The harness should be re-routed to avoid contact with the Air Condition Accumulator, Transmission mounting studs and any sharp edges.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
