This bulletin is being issued to revise the Radiator Replacement procedure in the Engine Cooling sub-section of the Service Manual. Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information.
The following information has been updated within SI. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.
Radiator Replacement
Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the lower transmission oil cooler (TOC) line from the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Line Quick Connect Fitting in Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E.
- Remove the cooling fans and shroud. Refer to Cooling Fan and Shroud Replacement.
- Remove radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement -- Inlet.
- Remove the radiator outlet hose. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement -- Outlet.
- Remove the bolt that secures the radiator to the condenser.
- Remove the condenser tube clip screw.
- Tilt the radiator and condenser inwards toward the engine and remove the radiator.
Installation Procedure
- Install the radiator.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the condenser tube clip screw.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the bolt that secures the radiator to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
- Install the radiator outlet hose. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement -- Outlet.
- Install radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement -- Inlet .
- Install the cooling fans and shroud. Refer to Cooling Fan and Shroud Replacement.
- Connect the lower transmission oil cooler (TOC) line to the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Line Quick Connect Fitting in Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E.
- Refill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.
- Inspect the transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure in Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E.
