1. Power Sliding Door Malfunction 2. Power Sliding Door Open/Close Switch Inoperative |
The power sliding door control module (PSDM) uses an optical sensor to monitor the power sliding door (PSD) position at all times. The optical sensor requires a 5-volt reference circuit and a reference return circuit from the PSDM. There are also 2 signal circuits from the PSDM to the optical sensor. The optical sensor sends pulses through both signal circuits to the PSDM whenever the PSD is in motion. The optical sensor pulses allow the PSDM to calculate the position of the PSD at all times. The optical sensor signals vary from 0.01-4.5 volts as the PSD is moving.
When the PSDM is powered up and has been commanded to operate the power sliding door.
The PSDM does not detect the optical sensor pulses while the power sliding door is opening or closing.
The power sliding door will unlatch and will open approximately 16mm (6 inches) and stop.
• | The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present. |
• | When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles. |
DTC B1292, B1293, B1294, B1395, B1420, B3250, B3260 or any combination of these DTCs may be set due to an overcinch condition in which the sliding door motor may continue to run for up to 3 seconds after the door is fully closed. Reference any power sliding door overcinching bulletins first before performing any extensive power sliding door diagnostics.

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool PSD Position Sensor 1 and PSD Position Sensor 2 parameters while manually opening and closing the sliding door. The counts should vary while the sliding door is opening and closing.
