1. Power Sliding Door Malfunction 2. Power Sliding Door Open/Close Switch Inoperative |
The power sliding door (PSD) latch/unlatch motor/actuator is responsible for latching and unlatching the PSD when the power sliding door control module (PSDM) has received a request to open or close the door. The latch/unlatch motor/actuator receives battery positive voltage from the PSDM via the PSD latch/unlatch motor/actuator control circuit. The PSDM monitors the voltage on the latch/unlatch motor/actuator control circuit during latching and unlatching operations in order to determine when a failure has occurred.
Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts.
The PSD latch/unlatch motor/actuator circuit is open, short to ground, or short to battery while the PSDM is attempting to latch or unlatch the door.
• | When the door is closed, the PSDM will attempt to open the door and stop if the condition is current. |
• | When the door is open, the PSDM will attempt to close the door and immediately re-open if the condition is current. |
• | The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present. |
• | When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles. |
DTC B1292, B1293, B1294, B1395, B1420, B3250, B3260 or any combination of these DTCs may be set due to an overcinch condition in which the sliding door motor may continue to run for up to 3 seconds after the door is fully closed. Reference any power sliding door overcinching bulletins first before performing any extensive power sliding door diagnostics.
Inspect the PSD plungers and corresponding B-Pillar pads for the following conditions:
• | Proper door plunger operation |
• | Clean electrical contact from the door plungers to the B-pillar pads |
• | Proper alignment of the door plungers to the B-pillar pads |

Control Module References for scan tool information
Ignition ON, command the appropriate power sliding door to UNLATCH with a scan tool. The power sliding door should perform the UNLATCH function.
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal replace the PSDM. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or and open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the PSDM. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the door contact plate. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the door contact plate. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or and open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the door contact plate. |
⇒ | If the function does not perform as specified, replace the sliding door unlatch actuator. |
