Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1682276  Size: SH

    Caution: Cap the fittings and plug the holes when servicing the fuel system in order to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering the open pipes and passages.

  1. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
  2. Remove the fuel fill pipe to fuel fill pocket bolts.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  5. Remove the fuel fill pipe shield retainers.
  6. Remove the fuel fill pipe shield.

  7. Object Number: 1682044  Size: SH
  8. Remove the fuel fill pipe bracket bolt (1).
  9. Disconnect the fuel fill pipe vapor recirculation pipe (2) quick connect fitting from the fuel tank vapor recirculation hose (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  10. Loosen the fuel fill hose clamp (5) at the fuel tank.
  11. Remove the fuel fill hose from the fuel tank (4).
  12. Remove the fuel fill pipe assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1682044  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel fill pipe assembly.
  2. Install the fuel fill hose to the fuel tank (4).
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Tighten the fuel fill hose clamp (5) at the fuel tank to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in) .
  5. Connect the fuel fill pipe vapor recirculation pipe (2) quick connect fitting to the fuel tank vapor recirculation hose (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  6. Install the fuel fill pipe bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft) .

  8. Install the fuel fill pipe shield.
  9. Install the fuel fill pipe shield retainers.
  10. Lower the vehicle.

  11. Object Number: 1682276  Size: SH
  12. Install the fuel fill pipe to fuel fill pocket bolts and tighten to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in) .
  13. Refill the fuel tank.
  14. Install the fuel fill cap.
  15. Inspect for fuel leaks.
