Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1675553 Size: SH
  1. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove the splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (1) from the knock sensor.

    4. Object Number: 1587771 Size: SH
  4. Loosen and remove the bank 2 knock sensor (2).

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1587771 Size: SH

    Note:  DO NOT apply thread sealant to the sensor threads. The sensor threads are coated at the factory. Applying additional sealant affects the sensors ability to detect detonation.

  1. Install the bank 2 knock sensor (2) and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft) .

    2. Object Number: 1675553 Size: SH
  2. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (1) to the knock sensor.
  3. Install the splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement .
  4. Install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
