Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1480123  Size: SH
  1. Reposition the underhood electrical center. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement .
  2. Remove the right front diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the washer pumps.
  4. Disconnect the washer hose connections at the front and rear washer pumps.
  5. Contain the washer solvent in a suitable container.
  6. Disconnect the 2 front engine wiring harness connections from the wiring harness.
  7. Remove the bolts from the fender flange and inner wheelhouse.
  8. Lower the washer container into the engine compartment.
  9. Carefully pull the forward engine harness over the top of the washer container spout.
  10. Remove the washer solvent container (2) from the engine compartment.
  11. Transfer the following components:
  12. • Cap
    • Front washer pump
    • Rear washer pump, if equipped

Installation Procedure

  1. Install new grommets into the washer container for the wiper washer pumps.
  2. Install the following removed components:
  3. • Cap
    • Front washer pump
    • Rear washer pump, if equipped
  4. Pull the engine harness forward and lower the container into the engine compartment.
  5. Position the underhood electrical harness over the top of the washer container spout.
  6. Position the washer container (2) to the right front inner fender.
  7. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  8. Install the bolts and tighten in sequence, as shown, to 6 N·m (53 lb in) .
  9. Connect the washer jumper hoses.
  10. Connect the electrical connectors.
  11. Install the right front diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement .
  12. Reposition the underhood electrical center. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement .
  13. Refill the washer container with new washer solvent.
  14. Verify the operation of the wipers/washer systems.
