J-38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

1. Open the liftgate.



2. Disconnect the electrical connection (1) for the rear object sensor harness, if equipped.
3. Use the J-38778 clip remover in order to remove the push-in retainers (3) from the upper and lower (6) rear bumper fascia.
4. Remove the screws (5) at the right and left wheel well from the rear bumper fascia.
5. Remove the palnut from the rear bumper fascia outer retainer.
6. Remove the rear bumper fascia (2) from the vehicle.
7. Remove the rear parking assist (RPA) sensors, if equipped. Refer to Rear Object Sensor Replacement .
8. Transfer the rear object sensors to the new rear bumper fascia, if equipped.

1. Install the RPA sensor to the rear bumper fascia, if equipped. Refer to Rear Object Sensor Replacement .



2. Align the rear bumper fascia (2) to the rear bumper fascia outer support.
3. Align the rear bumper fascia outer retainer (4) to the body.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

4. Install the palnut to the rear bumper fascia outer retainer and tighten to 2 N·m (18 lb in) .
5. Install the push-in retainers (3) to the upper and lower (6) rear bumper fascia.
6. Install the screws (5) at the right and left wheel well to the rear bumper fascia and tighten to 3 N·m (26 lb in) .
7. Connect the electrical connection (1) to the rear object sensor harness, if equipped.
8. Close the liftgate.

1. Open the liftgate.



2. Disconnect the electrical connection (1) for the rear object sensor harness, if equipped.
3. Use the J-38778 clip remover in order to remove the push-in retainers (3) from the upper and lower rear bumper fascia.
4. Remove the screws (5) at the right and left wheel well from the rear bumper fascia.
5. Remove the palnut from the rear bumper fascia outer retainer.
6. Remove the rear bumper fascia (2) from the vehicle.
7. Remove the rear parking assist (RPA) sensors, if equipped. Refer to Rear Object Sensor Replacement .
8. Transfer the rear object sensors to the new rear bumper fascia, if equipped.

1. Install the RPA sensor to the rear bumper fascia, if equipped. Refer to Rear Object Sensor Replacement .



2. Align the rear bumper fascia (2) to the rear bumper fascia outer support.
3. Align the rear bumper fascia outer retainer (4) to the body.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

4. Install the palnut to the rear bumper fascia outer retainer and tighten to 2 N·m (18 lb in) .
5. Install the push-in retainers (3) to the upper and lower rear bumper fascia.
6. Install the screws (5) at the right and left wheel well to the rear bumper fascia and tighten to 3 N·m (26 lb in) .
7. Connect the electrical connection (1) to the rear object sensor harness, if equipped.
8. Close the liftgate.
