J-38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

Note: The defroster door must be closed to allow clearance during defroster duct removal.

1. Set the HVAC controls in the VENT mode to close the defroster door.
2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement .



3. Remove the defroster outlet duct bolts.



4. Using the J-38778 clip remover remove the defroster outlet duct retaining clips.
5. Remove the defroster outlet duct from the I/P carrier.

1. Install the defroster outlet duct to the I/P carrier.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




2. Install the defroster outlet duct bolts and tighten to 1.2 N·m (11 lb in) .
3. Install the I/P carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement .
