🢒 Parking Brake Front Cable Replacement
Tools Required
J 37043
Park Brake Cable Release Tool
Removal Procedure
Remove the left-side instrument panel insulator. Refer to
Knee Bolster, Insulator, Molding Replacement - Instrument Panel
in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Remove the left-side carpet retainer. Refer to
Door Sill Plate Replacement
in Interior Trim.
Fold back the carpet for access.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
Loosen the park brake cable equalizer nut in order to remove the park brake cable from the park brake cable connector.
Remove the park brake cable end from the park brake cable connector.
Remove the park brake cable from all cable retainers.
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the park brake cable end from the park brake lever clevis.
Use the
J 37043
in order to remove the cable from the lever.
Remove the front park brake cable from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Install the front park brake cable to the vehicle.
Install the park brake cable to the park brake lever.
Install the park brake cable end to the park brake lever clevis.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
Install the park brake cable to the park brake cable retainers.
Install the park brake cable end to the park brake cable connector.
Adjust the park brake cable equalizer. Refer to
Park Brake Adjustment
.
Lower the vehicle.
Fold the carpet back in place.
Install the left-side carpet retainer. Refer to
Door Sill Plate Replacement
in Interior Trim.
Install the left-side instrument panel insulator. Refer to
Knee Bolster, Insulator, Molding Replacement - Instrument Panel
in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
