Removal Procedure
- Place the drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any draining power steering fluid.
- Remove the return hose from the power steering gear cooler pipe.
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Tensioner Diagnosis
in Engine Mechanical - 3.5L.
- Remove the inlet hose from the power steering pump.
- Remove the inlet hose from the hose retainer.
- Remove the inlet hose.
Installation Procedure
- Install the inlet hose.
- Install the inlet hose to the hose retainer.
- Install the inlet hose to the power steering pump.
- Install the inlet hose to the power steering gear cooler pipe.
- Install the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Tensioner Diagnosis
in Engine Mechanical - 3.5L.
- Fill the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to
Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations
in Maintenance and Lubrication.
- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding
