  10. Object Number: 392574 Size: SH
  11. Remove the retaining strap pinch bolt and remove retaining strap from the accumulator.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 392574 Size: SH
  1. Install the accumulator into the retaining strap.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the retaining strap pinch bolt.
  4. Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 5.5 N·m (49 lb in).

  5. Install the accumulator and retaining strap assembly into the vehicle.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. 7. Install the retaining strap mounting bolt.
  8. Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 5.5 N·m (49 lb in).

  9. Remove the cap or tape from the suction lines.
  10. Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing surfaces of suction lines and accumulator.
  11. Lightly coat the new O-ring seals with the mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
  12. Important: DO NOT allow any of the mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil on the new O-ring seals to enter the refrigerant system.

    Object Number: 297232 Size: SH
  13. Carefully slide the new O-ring seal (1) onto the evaporator suction line until seated

  14. Object Number: 297228 Size: SH
  15. Carefully slide the new O-ring seal (1) onto the compressor suction line until seated.
  16. Allow a light coating of the refrigerant oil to remain on the suction line fitting in the area indicated (2) ONLY.
