Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. With a scan tool, observe the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) signal parameter in the PCM data list.

Is there a VSS signal present?

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check in Engine Controls-3.4L

Important: Perform the set up procedure for the replacement IPC.

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement and the set up procedure?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?
