Removal Procedure

    Caution: An electric fan under the hood can start up even when the engine is not running and can injure you. Keep hands, clothing and tools away from any underhood electric fan.

    Caution: To help avoid personal injury or damage to the vehicle, a bent, cracked, or damaged fan blade or housing should always be replaced.

    Important: If abnormal noise or vibration is felt from the engine compartment, inspect and clean any foreign material from the cooling fan blades.

  1. Remove the cooling fan assembly including the shroud. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 793515  Size: SH

    Important: Turn the cooling fan nuts clockwise to loosen.

  3. Remove the cooling fan nuts.
  4. Remove the cooling fans from the shroud.

  5. Object Number: 793513  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the fan motor electrical connectors.
  7. Remove the fan motor screws.
  8. Remove the fan motors from the cooling fan shroud.

  9. Object Number: 368754  Size: SH
  10. Remove the heat shields from the cooling fan shroud.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 368754  Size: SH
  1. Install the heat shields to the cooling fan shroud.

  2. Object Number: 793513  Size: SH
  3. Install the fan motors to the cooling fan shroud.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the screws to the cooling fan motor.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  7. Connect the cooling fan motor electrical connectors.

  8. Object Number: 793515  Size: SH
  9. Install the cooling fans to the shroud.
  10. Important: Turn the cooling fan nuts counterclockwise to tighten.

  11. Install the cooling fan nuts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  13. Install the cooling fan assembly including the shroud. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement .
