Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
in Engine Controls -3.4L.
- Disconnect the cruise control module electrical connector.
- Remove the cruise control module from the mounting bracket and
reposition aside.
- Remove the cruise control
module mounting bracket bolts.
- Remove the cruise control module mounting bracket.
- Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.

Reposition
the left wiper arm linkage for access.
- Disconnect the vacuum hose from the booster and reposition.
- Remove the evaporator
outlet tube to TXV nut.
- Disconnect the evaporator outlet tube and evaporator inlet tube
from the TXV.
- Disconnect the evaporator inlet tube from the evaporator outlet
tube.
Important: Cap or tape the open A/C refrigerant tubes and A/C refrigerant components
immediately to prevent system contamination
- Cap or tape the TXV.
- Remove the evaporator
outlet tube bracket bolt.
- Disconnect the electrical connector on the evaporator outlet tube
bracket.

outlet tube to suction hose fitting bolt (1).
- Disconnect the evaporator outlet tube from the compressor suction
hose.
- Cap or tape the compressor suction hose.
- Remove the evaporator outlet tube from the vehicle.
- Remove and discard the sealing washers.
Installation Procedure
- Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing
surfaces of the A/C refrigerant tubes and the A/C refrigerant components.
Important: Flat washer type seals do not require lubrication.
- Install new sealing washers to the evaporator outlet tube.
- Install the evaporator outlet tube to the vehicle.
- Remove the cap or tape from the compressor suction hose.
- Connect the evaporator outlet tube to the compressor suction hose.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the evaporator outlet tube bolt (1) at the compressor suction
hose.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Connect the evaporator inlet tube to the evaporator outlet tube.
- Remove the cap or tape from the TXV.
- Connect the evaporator inlet and outlet tubes to the TXV.
- Install the evaporator
outlet tube nut at the TXV.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Install the evaporator
outlet tube bracket bolt.
Tighten
