Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear wiper arm. Refer to
Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement
.
- Remove the rear wiper motor drive shaft nut.
- Remove the washer and seal from the wiper motor drive shaft.
- Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to
Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement
in Body Rear End.
- Remove the rear wiper motor screws.
- Remove the rear wiper motor from the liftgate.
- Disconnect the rear wiper motor electrical
connector.
- Remove the rear wiper motor from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear wiper motor electrical
connector.
- Position the rear wiper motor
to the liftgate.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the rear wiper motor screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to
Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement
in Body Rear End.
- Install the washer and seal onto the rear wiper motor drive shaft.
- Install the rear wiper motor drive shaft nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the rear wiper arm. Refer to
Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement
.
- Inspect rear wiper for proper operation.
