Removal Procedure

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Remove liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the liftgate handle molding. Refer to Liftgate Outside Handle Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 313609  Size: LH
  5. Remove the nuts from the lock cylinder .

  6. Object Number: 313608  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect electrical connector, if equipped.
  8. Disconnect the lock rod from the cylinder.
  9. Remove the lock cylinder from the liftgate.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 313609  Size: LH
  1. Install the lock cylinder to the liftgate.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the liftgate lock cylinder retaining nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Attach the lock rod to the key cylinder.

  6. Object Number: 313608  Size: SH
  7. Connect the electrical connector, if equipped.
  8. Attach the lock rod to the latch.
  9. Install the liftgate handle molding. Refer to Liftgate Outside Handle Replacement .
  10. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  11. Close the liftgate.
