Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the map pocket net, if equipped. Refer to Front Seat Map Pocket Net Replacement .
  3. Remove the cup holder, if equipped. Refer to Front Seat Cup Holder Replacement .
  4. Remove the finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement .
  5. Remove the front seat buckle with pretensioner. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Left Side and/or Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Right Side in SIR.
  6. Remove the seat adjuster mechanism from the seat frame.
  7. Refer to the appropriate sections:

    • Front seat adjuster - 2-way Manual, 4-way Manual, if equipped. Refer to Manual Seat Adjuster Mechanism Replacement .
    • Front seat adjuster, 6-way Power, if equipped. Refer to Power Seat Adjuster Mechanism Replacement .
  8. Unsnap the recliner covers starting with the rear portion of the cover.

  9. Object Number: 455747  Size: SH
  10. Remove the recliner bolts.
  11. Separate the seat cushion from the seat back.

  12. Object Number: 317150  Size: SH
  13. Remove the J retainer (1) from the bottom of the seat cushion.

  14. Object Number: 455749  Size: SH
  15. Remove the seat cover retainer rings (hog rings) (2).
  16. Remove the seat cushion cover (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 455749  Size: SH
  1. Install the seat cushion cover (1).
  2. Install the seat cover retainer rings (hog rings) (2).

  3. Object Number: 317150  Size: SH
  4. Install the J retainer (1) at the bottom of the seat cushion.
  5. Install the seat cushion to the seat back.

  6. Object Number: 455747  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the front seat recliner bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 48 N·m (35 lb ft).

  9. Snap the recliner covers over the recliner mechanism.
  10. Install the seat adjuster mechanism to the seat frame.
  11. Refer to the appropriate sections:

    • Front seat adjuster, 2-way Manual, 4-way Manual, if equipped. Refer to Manual Seat Adjuster Mechanism Replacement .
    • Front Seat Adjuster, 6-way Power, if equipped. Refer to Power Seat Adjuster Mechanism Replacement .
  12. Install the front seat buckle with Pretensioner. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Left Side and or Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Right Side in SIR.
  13. Install the finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement .
  14. Install the cup holder, if equipped. Refer to Front Seat Cup Holder Replacement .
  15. Install the map pocket net, if equipped. Refer to Front Seat Map Pocket Net Replacement .
  16. Install the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
