Rear Seat Recliner Replacement AQ4

1. Remove the rear seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .



2. Remove the seat back frame (1). Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Frame Replacement .

Important: The recliner mechanism is an integral part of the seat back frame. Replace the entire seat back frame if the recliner mechanism requires replacement.

3. Remove the recliner mechanism (2) and the seat back frame assembly (1).

1. Install the recliner mechanism (2) and the seat back frame assembly (1).
2. Install the seat back frame (1). Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Frame Replacement .
3. Install the rear seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .

Rear Seat Recliner Replacement AL4, AT5, AM9

1. Remove the seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .
2. Remove the recliner covers. Refer to Rear Seat Back Recliner Cover Replacement .



3. Remove the seat back cover retainer at the bottom edge of the rear seat back.



4. Remove the recliner bolts from the seat cushion.
5. Remove the seat back cover and pad away in order to expose the recliner bolts.



6. Remove the recliner bolts from the seat back.
7. Remove the recliner from the seat.

1. Install the recliner to the seat back.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the recliner to the seat back bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the recliner bolts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).




3. Install the recliner to the seat cushion bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the recliner bolts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).




4. Install the seat back cover retainer at the bottom edge of the rear seat back cover.
5. Install the recliner covers. Refer to Rear Seat Back Recliner Cover Replacement .
6. Install the seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .
